I’ve reverted back to my apparently lazy ways – letting someone else organise my microadventures!
While my brother and dad were golfing in Portugal, I had planned to spend some time with my mum practising my own golf, with a stop off with Molly in Belfast on the way through.
Molly thought of climbing Slieve Donard as a microadventure, and it was a great one. Although only the 19th highest peak on the island of Ireland standing at 850 metres (2,790 ft), it is the highest peak in Northern Ireland.
I’ve climbed it before, many years ago, in a previous life when I was fitter. When I didn’t have an inhaler….
